Disclaimer: this is not the final demo version, once all kinks are sorted, the game will be published on Steam as a demo
Disclaimer 2.0: this game is written in Java with the libGDX framework, so there are some limitations compared to traditional game engines
WHAT'S IN THE DEMO:
- First stage: considerably easier than the upcoming stages 2 & 3 - meant for starting up your build and your run; consists of an overworld with easier enemies, dungeons with stronger enemies and bosses at the end of each dungeon
- Endless Mode: increasingly stronger/faster enemies
- Hub Editor: right now, there's very few decorations in the hub (half of them you have to unlock through achievements)
- Gear: iron gear set with 5 different prefixes & SR (rare) gear
- Consumables: health potions, 1-minute booster potions, 5-minute booster items
FEATURES
- Multiple Classes: Choose between the Mage (staff), the Mercenary (spear) and the Paladin (sword), each with their own unique combat abilities. Engineer class is planned.
- Ability System: Every class has unique combat abilities, while movement and utility skills are shared across all classes — mix and match to find your playstyle.
- Procedurally Generated Dungeons: Dungeons are randomly generated using the drunkard's walk algorithm. Each dungeon ends with a boss portal. Clear 3 bosses to spawn the stage's megaboss.
- Build Your Goblin: Allocate stat points across Vitality, Attack, Defense, and Dexterity every time you level up. Reset and respec whenever you want. Equip gear from 5 different archetypes (Valkyrie, Protector, Barbarian, Berserker, Deceptor) plus rare Special Rarity (SR) items with unique passive effects.
- Equipment & Gearing: Six gear slots (helmet, chest, gloves, boots, weapon, offhand) and a merchant to buy and sell from.
- SR Gear (rare): The megaboss drops SR gear - each gear piece has a passive ability and increased stats.
- Endless Mode: Waves of increasingly more difficult enemies.
- Hub Editor: decorate your hub however you want to and share it with others
- Achievements: unlock Hub decorations through achievements
WHAT'S TO COME
- Stages 2 & 3: each stage will have a unique area, dungeons and bosses, which will be significantly more difficult than in the first stage
- Complex enemies: in the next stages, enemies will have the chance to inflict negative statuses on the player (such as bleed, stun, slow, etc.)
- More achievements: more Hub decoration unlocks
- More unique SR gear
- More prefixes
- Luck stat: luck will add critical hit chance on enemies and healing on the player
- More classes: currently planning on an Engineer class, might add more before or after release
- More abilities: more class specific, movement and utility abilities
